"Far superior to battle droids, clone troopers formed the backbone of the Grand Army of the Republic. Bred from the genetic template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, they represented the latest evolution in galactic warfare. The 501st Legion was an elite military division that served under the command of General Anakin Skywalker, Commander Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. Together, they used numerous unconventional battle tactics and fought bravely in historic conflicts from the Battle of Christophsis to the Siege of Mandalore."

Overview

These skins are based on the appearance of the 501st Legion, a prominent Clone Trooper legion in the Grand Army of the Republic. The 501st Legion fell under the ultimate command of Jedi Knight and General Anakin Skywalker. Along with Skywalker for most of the Clone Wars was his Padawan, Commander Ahsoka Tano. The 501st Legion was also led by Clone Captain Rex and later Clone Commander Appo. The 501st Legion participated in many prominent battles during the Clone Wars and is depicted in both The Clone Wars TV series and Revenge of the Sith, where, in the latter, they march on the Jedi Temple under Darth Vader and Appo's command as part of Order 66, earning them the nickname "Vader's Fist."

Trivia

  • The lifespan of the 501st Legion was followed in the now non-canon campaign of the original Star Wars: Battlefront II, where the legion's actions were narrated by an unknown veteran Clone Trooper from its conception to the Battle of Hoth.
