Overview[edit | edit source]
This map is completely in-doors and industrial. Carbonite-Freezing Chambers takes place in the facility where Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader have their first iconic lightsaber battle in The Empire Strikes Back. It is also where Han Solo was frozen in carbonite.
An update on June 27 increased the frequency of the map use, making it one of the most used maps in the Bespin playlist.
In Sabotage, the generators are placed in both carbon-freezing chambers (A and C) and in a central room with tunnels that go to both chambers (B).
This is the only map where a GR-75 Medium Transport doesn't appear, as there would be no place for it to land.
Tips[edit | edit source]
The Carbonite freezing chambers is a tightly packed map, and therefore, it is generally best to use Blaster Pistols. Although this is a general rule, it appears that the TL-50 Heavy Repeater and EE-4 really dominate this map, the TL-50 especially because of its secondary fire, which can be used as a grenade. It is generally good to use grenades, especially the Dioxis Grenade and the Sonic Imploder. Other good substitutes are Smoke Grenades for cover, or an Impact Grenade. Thermal Detonators are not great because the lack instant damage, which is necessary, and Flash Grenades don't have quite the protective ability that smoke screens do.
