Count Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus, is a Separatist Hero in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II.[1] He arrived on January 23, 2019, as part of the Darth Tyranus Update[2][3][4] He originally cost 35,000 credits to unlock but this cost was removed in the Capital Supremacy Update.

Count Dooku is a formidable and elegant duelist. He is mainly a close-ranged hero. He can swing and block longer than most other lightsaber wielders, possessing a high amount of stamina. Count Dooku can also dodge more frequently than other heroes, possessing three dodges instead of two. This allows him to avoid more attacks and outmaneuver his opponents more effectively.

His lightsaber attacks can be made even deadlier with his Duelist ability, which will increase the damage of his lightsaber and his swing speed. Combining Duelist with the Initiative, Masterful Duelist, and the Dominance Star Card, along with Expose Weakness, allows Count Dooku to deal very high damage to enemies.

Lightning Stun knocks enemies into the ground, leaving them open to further attacks. It is able to kill three of the four base classes, and low-health Heroes. The damage drops off the more targets it affects.

Expose Weakness stops an opponent from sprinting, and cancels any extra health, making them more vulnerable to Count Dooku's deadly lightsaber attacks.

Trivia[]

  • Count Dooku is voiced by Corey Burton, who previously voiced him in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated TV series as well as in the original Star Wars: Battlefront II.
  • Various animations of Count Dooku's had been datamined in the December Update prior to his release, including his menu pose animation, running animation, and basic swing attack animations.
    • Count Dooku's emotes had also been datamined prior to their official announcement. They were found to be titled: "Brave But," "Looking Forward," "More Powerful," and "Sith Control."
    • Count Dooku's ability names were also datamined prior to their official announcement. They were found to be called: "Electrocute (Lightning Stun)," "Expose Weakness," and "Duelist."

Darth Tyranus Update

  • Added.
  • Known issue: Obi-Wan and Rey are not always able to block attacks from Count Dooku when Duelist is active.

Darth Tyranus Hotfix

  • New content: Dark Ritual Appearance added.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Expose Weakness VFX would be invisible when playing against AI in Arcade.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Count Dooku's lightsaber would not make a sound when ignited at the beginning of a Heroes bs. Villains match.

The Chosen One Update

  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Count Dooku's cape would float excessively while standing over Han Solo's Detonite Charge or Lando Calrissian's Disabler.

Capital Supremacy Update

  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where sprinting or dashing during Duelist would reset the ability's animation speed.

Roger Roger Update

  • Mechanics change: Count Dooku's health-on-kill Star Card named Rising Power has been replaced with Initiative.
  • Mechanics change: Count Dooku now gains health from every kill automatically, no Star Card required.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue with the speed of Count Dooku's animation during Duelist.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Count Dooku's lightsaber could not be seen when the Effects Quality setting was set to Low.

Cooperation Update

  • Mechanics change: When hero abilities are interrupted by another ability, the interrupted ability will become instantly available so it can be used again. Before this, the interrupted ability would enter its cooldown despite not triggering.

Another Night on Endor Update

  • Mechanics change: Hero abilities will not get canceled when heroes are hit with melee attacks. Additionally, a melee attack right after a lightsaber attack should not stagger the hero.
  • Mechanics change: Heroes and troopers are now immune to staggers for 0.7 seconds after having been staggered. This is applicable to staggering abilities, melee attacks, as well as lightsaber attacks.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Duliest, Lightning Stun, and Expose Weakness would be cancelled when activated at the same time as a dash or roll.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where health-on-kill would occasionally award the wrong amount of health when killing troopers.
  • Bug fix: Fixed an issue where Expose Weakness would not become instantly available again if Count Dooku killed his target.
  • Unlisted: Attack speed while Duelist is active has been reduced to 2.67 from the original 3.
  • Unlisted: Count Dooku's dodges now end slightly faster.
  • Quality of life: Heroes and troopers are now able to move and use abilities after having been staggered 0.15 seconds earlier.
  • Quality of life: Reduced the time length of staggers when hit from behind by 0.15 seconds for all heroes and troopers.
  • Quality of life: Pass on Count Dooku's abilities, allowing players to regain control over the character earlier after the ability animation has ended:
    • Duelist: Letting players use their other abilities 0.3 seconds earlier and evade 0.15 seconds earlier.
    • Expose Weakness: Letting players use their other abilities 0.15 seconds earlier and evade 0.15 seconds earlier.
    • Lightning Stun: Letting players move 0.15 seconds earlier.

The Celebration Update

  • Buff: Expose Weakness will now remove any active extra health on the target.
  • Bug fix: Fixed a visual clipping issue in the way Count Dooku holds his Lightsaber.
  • Quality of life: Added UI elements to show when Count Dooku has a critical strike available while the Initative Star Card is equipped.
