Darth Maul is the Emperor's apprentice from Episode I: The Phantom Menace. A red Zabrak with Sith tattoos, Maul is very unique in appearance and combat style and has mastered the art of combat with the Doublesaber. This allows him to fend off more opponents, but increases the risk of cutting himself. Much about Maul remains a mystery, but he was eventually defeated, shortly after killing Qui Gon Jinn, at the hand of Jinn's apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi. He returned during the middle of the Clone Wars, but he was betrayed by his old master Darth Sidious. A very formidable adversary, Darth Maul is a killing machine in the game, and any non-hero in his path is sure to meet a quick death. His lightsaber attack even includes a special twist: if you tap attack several times and then hold it, another move is added to the end of his normal sequence.
All of Darth Maul's appearances in Star Wars Battlefront are non-canon, as he 'died' in Episode One, also his appearance was vastly altered after his 'resurrection' in The Clone Wars, first with a pair of robotic legs resembling General Grievous, and then with a pair more reminiscent of Darth Vader.
His Saber Throw attack is the most effective if used against a group of enemies; the double saber covers more area.
When confronted with Darth Maul ingame, a clone will sometimes exclaim "What is he going to do? Bleed on us"?
Darth Maul is arguably one of if not the most powerful hero/villain character in the game, with his deadly double saber skills and breakneck speed.
In the PlayStation 4 version of Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Darth Maul will appear to be giving enemies the middle finger when using Force Push, although this may be as a programming error.
He is voiced by Stephen Stanton in Star Wars: Battlefront II.
