Disruption is a Star Card in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II that overheats enemy weapons and turrets caught in its area of effect. In Battlefront II, it can additionally defuse explosives.

Overview[]

Disruption is a Star Card featured in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront. It was introduced in the Bespin Update as part of the Bespin expansion pack and can be unlocked by completing the Hutt Contract "Disruptor."

Disruption is a Charge Card that releases a wave of energy upon activation. This wave of energy disables enemy blasters (including that of enemy heroes), turrets, droids, and certain vehicle weapons by causing them to suddenly overheat. The disruption effect does not affect Star Card weapons, such as the Scatter Gun, Pulse Cannon, or even Stinger Pistol.

Despite the sudden overheat, skilled players can quickly fight back if they successfully perform a cooling flush (signaled by the yellow bars that appear shortly after weapon overheat). If they fail, they must wait until the weapon fully cools down on its own.

The DT-29 Blaster Pistol, added in the Rogue One: Scarif Update, is the only weapon (outside of Star Card weapons) that is immune to Disruption, since it uses energy packs that have to be manually reloaded after firing six rounds.

A player who successfully uses Disruption on an opponent will gain an Overheat bonus for every enemy overheated.

Disruption is an Ability Card for the Officer class in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II that can be unlocked for 1 Skill Point starting when the Officer class has been leveled up to Level 15.

Overview[]

Disruption is effective for incapacitating large groups of enemies and taking heavily fortified objectives.

The Star Card starts at a base range of 16 meters, affecting enemy weapons, explosives, and turrets caught within this field. Upgrading the rarity increases the range of the ability, with a final range of 20 meters.
