The E-5 Blaster Rifle is a blaster rifle featured in Pandemic Studios' Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront II. The E-5 has a large gas chamber that allowed for powerful blasts. It was originally a BlasTech design that was reverse-engineered by Baktoid Armor Workshop for use by its Battle Droid troopers. The fact that the weapon was intended for use by wielders allowed BAW to skimp on some of the finer points - such as the fact that short barreled weapons are comparatively fragile and produce great deal of heat over repeated firings. While these factors might inconvenience a human soldier, Battle Droids have no complaints.

Star Wars: Battlefront[]

In Star Wars: Battlefront, the E-5 is used by the B1 Battle Droids. They can only be used in the first two levels of the clone wars campaign mode. They act exactly the same as the B2 Super Battle Droid's wrist blaster.

Star Wars: Battlefront II[]

This weapon is used by the Droid Marine in the Assault game mode. Again, they act exactly the same as the wrist blaster.

  • During the Clone Wars, E-5 blaster rifles were still used by the B1 Battle Droids, but they were rivaled by the B2 Super Battle Droids, which had wrist-mounted blasters instead of a rifle. The wrist blasters proved to be a more effective and versatile weapon.
  • The in-game skin of the E-5 is used for a number of weapons such as the Bulldog RLR, the ACP Shotgun, and the Flamethrower. However, the B1 Battle Droid and the Droid Marine are the only units to use this weapon in normal gameplay.
  • The regular B1 Battle Droid and its arsenal may have been originally planned to be the soldier unit of the CIS. When fired, the rifle location matches where the blast effect is, however when the Super Battle Droid uses its wrist blaster, its arm doesn't match the same location as the blast effect.
