- "A light and versatile sidearm that can fire an alternate projectile that causes a blinding effect on the victim."
- — In-game Description
Flash Pistol is an Ability Card in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II for the Assault class. It is unlocked once the Assault reaches Level 15. The card allows players to equip an EC-17 hold-out blaster that is capable of both temporarily blinding enemies as well as firing regular blaster bolts. The regular blaster bolts are not particularly powerful, requiring around 5-7 shots to kill a target.
Flash Pistol can be used as both a crowd control weapon and an effective flanking tool. The card can be used as a disorientation tactic in large crowds, which can allow allies to push and eliminate enemies easier. When used on reinforcements, the blinding effect can provide an exceptional advantage for normal trooper classes. It can also be used on Heroes and while under normal circumstances, a Hero would be capable of tearing through entire groups of infantry, inflicting huge casualties, a single Flash pistol-wielding trooper can both blind the Hero and disrupt their attack, allowing your allies to fire upon them and finish them off with less of a hassle.
The Flash pistol is also capable of being used as a sidearm, since it can fire regular blaster shots as well. Normally Star Wars Battlefront II restricts the Assault to only having two weapons; their primary weapon and a version of Vanguard, which is requires a cooldown after each use. The Flash pistol, however, does not have a cooldown and can be used at any time, which means that if you are engaging an enemy and your weapon overheats mid-battle (and the cooling flush fails), you can easily pull out the Flash pistol and use it to finish off your enemy.
