The Galactic Empire is a faction in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II. The Empire was the fascist dictatorship founded from the Galactic Republic at the end of the Clone Wars by Emperor Palpatine. The Empire ruled the galaxy with an iron fist, but was eventually defeated by the Rebel Alliance and its successor state, the New Republic, at the end of the Galactic Civil War. They are part of the Dark Side, and their main enemy in the Light Side is the Rebel Alliance.
