The Imperial Star Destroyer, also known as the Imperator-class Star Destroyer, is an Imperial starship featured in Star Wars: Battlefront II and in Star Wars: Battlefront: Renegade Squadron and Star Wars: Battlefront: Elite Squadron.
It serves as the flagship of the Imperial task-force for all major Empire space engagements in Star Wars: Battlefront II. It features two hangars, one on the starboard side, and one on the port side, although, only the port side one is usable in naval combat. The other is sealed off by docking doors. From this hangar, Imperial starfighters spawn for the engagement - TIE Fighters, TIE Bombers, TIE Interceptors and Theta-class shuttles.
History[]
The Imperial Star Destroyer was created during the time of the Empire. This ship became a symbol of the Empire, a near limitless power. There are two different types of Imperial-class Star Destroyers. One of them is the Imperial-I class Star Destroyer which carries 4 dual heavy turbolasers flanking the bridge on each side, while the newer model, the Imperial-II class Star Destroyer, carries 4 octuple barbette turbolasers flanking the bridge on each side as well. When Emperor Palpatine built these during his military build-up, thousands of these were created. He even went to the extent of building Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts. Darth Vader even had his own Star Destroyer invented as his flagship, named the Executor.

Trivia[]
- The in-game ship does not follow Star Wars canon because it is far too small.
- It is also unknown whether or not the ship is an Imperial-I or II Star Destroyer.
- Due to the lack of a ventral hangar bay, this ship could also be the Tector Class (as seen in Return of the Jedi).
