I agree. As of late, more and more posts have required moderator intervention. I think two additional Discussion mods would be a good thing. You have shown good judgement in your reporting of posts, so I would be comfortable with you being one of them if that is something you are interested in.
Great! As a Discussions mod, just be familiar with the rules and be transparent with every user that you make an action on. Always try to find a way to tell a user what they did wrong, so they have the opportunity to not make that mistake again.
If a post breaks one of the rules, you are free to delete the post (you can also just lock the post, but deleting it keeps the feed clean and less cluttered, so deleting is preferred). But when you do so, unlock this thread and make a comment on it. In the comment, mention the user whose post you deleted and the reason why you deleted their post. After you make your comment, re-lock the post so only us mods can make comments on it.
And there you go! That's the basics of how to be a mod for the Battlefront Wiki Discussions. If you're not sure how to handle a certain case, just let me know and I can take a look. And if you have any other questions or concerns, just message me on here or on Discord too if you have that.
I have recently been trying to earn some more badges to my user, such as "Make 250 edits on articles" and "Add 10 articles to categories", and I've been wanting to create a category page known as "Items unlocked through Milestones", which does not yet exist, where you can find pages like "Old Master" and various Infantry weapons. But I do not yet know how to make a category page, and I was hoping for some help. Do you just go to "Add category" on a page and write one out, and boom, that category page now exists? or is there some further process behind it?
Hey Sisu, that sounds like a good category. Yes, you can create a category by clicking "Add category" and writing one out. Additionally, you can create categories when you are editing an article by typing out a new category in this little box. Technically when you do either of those things, the category page itself does not yet exist, even though the page has been added to that category already (you can see this with Category:General Grievous Update). You can create a category page by clicking on the category after you've created it. It should take you to a page titled Category:category-name. There should be a button to the right of the title that says "Create", like so. When you create a category page, you can add a little description about the category, but you don't need to. After you've created a category page, it will show up in the future as a category suggestion when you try to add other articles to it. I hope this helps.
Hey TheGoodGeneral, by userbox container, do you mean something like I have on my userpage, where I have my userboxes all contained at the bottom of an infobox? I use a custom infobox, so I can show you how to make a container that way if you also want to use a custom infobox. If you want to add a userbox container to the Character infobox (the infobox you are currently using), I could try adapting the Character infobox to include a userbox container, though I'm not sure if it might work. I will have to do some playing around with it.
For the tabs that Anakin made, all you need to do is use Template:Parent Tab Template. The documentation page does a pretty good job of explaining how to use it, but basically you put this in the source editor (I'm not sure how you would input the values for this template on the Visual Editor):
Note that the Parent Tab Template only works for subpages of the page it is currently on, so if you put it on your userpage (User:TheGoodGeneral 1), the name of every page you want to make tabs for would have to start with User:TheGoodGeneral 1/.
There are some other parameters you could put to customize the appearance of each tab, such as bordercolor. The documentation page goes into more detail on how to do that.
Please let me know if anything I said is confusing or unclear.
I found a userbox container template in the Templates tab, however, when I pasted my userboxes, they were all duplicated. Also, I couldn't find a space to put in colors like on the userboxes themselves.
I wasn't planning on having it inside the infobox; I imagined it being in the same spot as where my userboxes are now.
Hey TheGoodGeneral, sorry for the delayed response.
I'm glad the tabs worked for you. Regarding the userbox container template, I see what you mean by it duplicating everything. It must have something to do with the template code, though I'm not exactly sure what yet. I'm currently testing it on my sandbox. I will get back to you once I have figured out the issue with that particular template, and see if there is a spot I can include customizing the colors of the infobox.
I have been trying to get around the wikis like everybody else does since yesterday, but for some reason I can't submit my edits, use the search tab (on the screen where things like FANDOM, GAMES, MOVIES, etc. are on), and other things. How are you doing this stuff so easily?! It's not fair!
Take a seat, young Sonic2479. Your first time editing on wikis might be difficult, but I promise you it will get easier! The problems you've mentioned seem out of the ordinary, though, so I would suggest getting some technical help on Community Central.
I couldn't been able to answer that I had a problem of replying on the day after you give the last one. But I was just checking out what was going on when I was working on and edit at the stark link wiki and a webpage error shows up saying this
"Do you Want to debug this webpage?"
"This webpage contains errors that might prevent it from displaying or working correctly. If you ate not testing this webpage, click No"
Line: 1 Error: Object doesn't support property or method 'includes'
I haven't encountered those errors previously. I use Google Chrome as my web browser; not sure if that might have something to do with it. The folks at Community Central where you asked help before might be able to help you better as they specialize in this type of thing. All the best.
On Fan-tasic, I am normally a fan for internet explorer but using google chrome for edits? *sighs* I wish I knew how I am going to explain this to the Community Central... But maybe if I were to tell you about my situation with the wiki on internet explorer first, maybe you or any of you guys might help me in talking this out with the community central because I feel like I cannot do it alone.
Hmm, I don't think you telling me and then me telling Community Central will help. It's best if you are the one who talks to them directly because it is you who is experiencing the problems. If you are not sure how to explain the errors you are getting to the people at Community Central, maybe you could take screenshots or a video of the errors instead and show them.
Regarding the browser you are using, Internet Explorer is a very old browser now and might be a big reason why you are experiencing those errors. I recommend using Firefox or Google Chrome. It might help.
I have no experience on taking screenshots no videos off of a computer! and old browsers cannot be the reason, Community Central have always fixed up many things. But a cannot do this alone because takes a really long time and confusing. But if we all work together if I could explain this fast and short as possible than maybe we all have a chance.
a long time ago before 9 or 10 years later, Whenever I click a link that is in red there is usually something pops up like say "Create a page" I click edit I would start editing from there, but nowadays that doesn't seep to happen anymore so I would click the left side of my mouse and click open to get into an editing page.
and then when I am done editing I would click publish and it shows my completed work, but 9 or 10 days later, I can't seem to click publish anymore. So I click close on a webpage I would be on or click back to my previous page with no changed edits at all. So how can the others not help me explain if there would probably have that problem on their Internet Explorer too?
I do not have Internet Explorer so I cannot help you explain anything. The only suggestion I have for you is to try a more modern browser. The process that you are describing works fine for me on Google Chrome.
I am not aware of anyone on this wiki who uses Internet Explorer. Further, if someone does use Internet Explorer on this wiki, they have not contacted anyone here about the problems you are experiencing--this is the first time I have heard about them. This is largely the reason why I refer you to Community Central's technical board. Not only is it where people who have technical problems go to for help (increasing your likelihood of finding someone else using Internet Explorer who has the same problem as you), but the people who reply on those boards probably know how to help you better than anyone on this wiki.
Bureaucrats can promote other users to bureaucrat (including admins), and do stuff like change the name of the wiki. Other than that (and maybe a few others things that I don’t know), they don’t have that many differences
hey i was wondaring sence no one else seems to know would you by any chance know if we cauld buy the shoretrooper skin for all classes or just assault i would ask on the offical battlefront website but i cant access it thanks
