- — In-game Description in Star Wars Battlefront
The RT-97C or RT-97C Heavy Blaster is a fully-automatic Heavy Blaster in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront and DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II that is wielded by soldiers in the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire.
Star Wars Battlefront
- "The RT-97C is a versatile heavy blaster, fitted with optics to allow use at long range."
- — In-game description
Overview
It's unlocked at rank 5 and can be purchased with 1,250 in-game credits. It is more or less a more accurate version of the DLT-19 with slightly higher damage per shot at long range.
Even though the RT-97C has much more recoil than the DLT-19, it compensates for this by having slightly higher damage-per-second, extending its effective range and allowing it to be used at longer ranges than the DLT-19. The RT-97C is also less susceptible to long-range attacks than the DLT-19 as your increased accuracy allows you to retaliate more easily.
In close quarters, the RT-97C is slightly slower at dealing with opponents and cannot sustain fire for as long as the DLT-19, though it retains roughly three-fourths of the DLT-19's close range power. If the player can afford to sacrifice some of their close range power for slightly better long range power, they should have good thoughts about the RT-97C.
The strategy for countering the RT-97C is largely the same as with the DLT-19 with the main exception being its longer effective range and slightly reduced close range power. It is however still more powerful than it's companion.
Trivia
- The RT-97C Heavy Blaster is based on the MG 15, albeit with an added scope and no stock or iron sights.

Star Wars Battlefront II
- "Standard issue heavy blaster that trades accuracy for increased power and rate of fire."
- — In-game description
The RT-97C is the default Heavy Blaster available for the Rebel Heavy Trooper in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II.
Overview
The RT-97C is a default weapon of the Heavy class. As a default weapon, it shares the same statistics as the other default weapons for the Heavy class. It also means that it is unable to unlock or equip any weapon modifications, which limits the weapon's adaptability and overall potential.
The RT-97C is able to fire a plethora of blaster bolts at a high rate of fire before overheating. This means the RT-97C can suppress an area or target with more shots and for a longer period than most other blasters. However, the blaster has a high spread which limits its accuracy and capability at longer ranges.
