A player's rank is a form of player progression in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II that is dependent on a player's score in multiplayer matches. Playing the objective, defeating enemies, healing and supporting allies, and other actions increase score therefore rank progression. A player's rank can only increase.

In Battlefront II, player rank is not to be confused with a class or unit's level, which is a form of progression specific to a certain class or unit.

Rank 100 Battlefront

In Battlefront, the score that a player earns in a match directly contributes to their rank progression

In DICE's Battlefront, rank determines the type of Star Cards and customization options available to the player. The higher the rank, the more Star Cards and customization options become available for the player to unlock with Credits.

The max rank a player can reach is Rank 100. When the game first released, the original max rank was 50, but over the course of several expansion releases, culminating in the Rogue One: Scarif expansion, the max rank was increased to the current Rank 100.

The total score a player earns at the end of a multiplayer match is converted directly to rank progression, and bonuses such as Awards achieved during that match as well as winning the match further add to rank progression.

Star Wars Battlefront II

In DICE's Battlefront II, the max rank a player can reach is Rank 50. Rank in Battlefront II solely measures the player's performance in online matches and ultimately time played; there are no game elements such as Star Cards or customization options locked behind a rank requirement. In a sense, player rank in Battlefront II is entirely cosmetic; a Rank 32 player and Rank 50 player could have the exact same set of Star Cards and weapons unlocked for a given class or unit.

Similar to the previous game, score earned in a match is directly converted to rank progression. Unlike the previous game, winning a match does not contribute to rank progression, rather, it increases the Credits payout for that match by a small amount.

A reward of 1,000 Credits is granted every time the player increases their player rank, except for when the rank is right before a multiple of 5, at which point the player is rewarded 5,000 credits.
