Unit Details

2 1 Pilot, and 1 Gunner

The Rebel Combat Speeder was a vehicle used by the Rebel Alliance. It could seat two people; a driver who controlled the vehicle, main lasers and dual rockets, and the main gunner, who controlled a powerful fore-mounted turret. The speeder was good for quick raiding attacks on enemies, but was vulnerable in prolonged engagements. It can strafe, unlike its Imperial counterpart, the AT-ST, making it a strong match for vehicles. It was only used in Star Wars: Battlefront, but not in Star Wars: Battlefront II, having been replaced by the Alliance AAC-1 instead. It is useful for destroying infantry and vehicles and is very fast.

The Alliance V-25 is a heavily armoured and armed combat glider. It is equipped with laser cannons and rocket launchers, making it ideal against infantry, tanks and artillery. It is relatively quick and agile. It is seen on almost all maps that have vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront.

  • Sometimes, when AT-AT's on Rhen Var shoots this vehicle or grenades are thrown at it, units will fly out of this vehicle. This is ether a glitch or an effect when the grenade or the blaster bolt goes through the "window."
  • The Combat Landspeeder is strangely similar to the weaker Gian Speeder, which was used by the Royal Naboo Security Force.
  • An alternate design for the Combat Speeder was scrapped very late into the game's develop as it was featured in the original Battlefront website's vehicle section. The design appeared to be a hybrid of Luke's Land Speeder featured in A New Hope and the 74-Z Speeder Bike. The turret was also located in the back instead of the front. The design was probably scrapped due to concerns that players might accidentally shoot themselves or their drivers.
