Sandtroopers are based on the appearances of the stormtroopers deployed on Tatooine in Star Wars: A New Hope. Their armor is dirtier, grittier, and more torn than standard stormtrooper armor, which tends to be shiny and pristine. They are also equipped with a backpack and a pauldron.

Sandtrooper is a skin in EA DICE's Star Wars Battlefront. Sandtroopers are the default appearance for stormtroopers on Tatooine and Jakku maps, an thus, are automatically available for all players on applicable maps.
Star Wars Battlefront II Edit
- "Migrant by nature or perhaps necessity, humans fearlessly explored the vastness of space to find places they could call their own under their own terms, making them the most predominant species in the galaxy. While the planet they originally hail from is still debated, the Core World Coruscant is widely considered the human homeworld. As clone troopers were gradually phased out in favor of human conscripts, many more humans went through rigorous trooper training on Coruscant and at Imperial Academies throughout the galaxy to serve their Emperor with unquestionable loyalty."
- — In-game description
Sandtrooper is an Imperial trooper appearance for the Heavy class in DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II. While in the game since launch for Tatooine maps, it was made into an optional skin with the Battle on Scarif Update and the appearance designated Rare.
- Made a selectable option in the collection menu.
- Although all sandtroopers have orange pauldrons in both of EA DICE's Battlefront games, not all sandtroopers actually used orange pauldrons. In Star Wars canon, orange pauldrons were used to denote the rank of stormtrooper commanders.
