The Shock Trooper is the Galactic Empires unit built for heavy damage towards tanks, turrets, and other objects with large amounts of health. They don't require very good aim, which is good, considering the shot they have is not very precise and your target is almost always moving. They can also be used for disposing of nearby units in one shot (or a few, if they are heroes), but be careful, these guys don't pack that much ammunition. The Shock trooper Armor changes to Snow trooper Armor on Hoth. (Equivalent to- Assault Droid, Rebel Vanguard, Clone Heavy Trooper)
