A sniper rifle is a weapon that shoots high-speed precision bolts that are effective from medium- to long-range. Most sniper rifles lose their effectiveness at short-range due to their slow rate of fire. Sniper rifles and sniper-like weapons are featured in all Star Wars: Battlefront games, including those by Pandemic Studios and EA DICE.
Pandemic Studios[]
In Pandemic's Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront II, sniper rifles are used by the Sniper class. Every Sniper unit has their own sniper weapon, but they all behave identically. Every Sniper unit in Battlefront II has the same exact weapon they have in Battlefront.
The Sniper Rifle is one of the most easily recognisable weapons on the game, as its long, thin form is also seen in real life. Used for taking out units from very long range, it shoots a very fast, straight beam. The player will use its double-zoom quite a bit and have to aim slightly ahead of moving targets to hit them. Try for head shots, because without them the unit probably won't die, and it will be alerted of your position and begin moving around to avoid continued shots. The Awards Sniper Rifle is known as the Beam Rifle.

Star Wars Battlefront (2015)[]
Although never formally addressed as sniper rifles, the 2015 reboot features weapons known as Targeting Rifles that fire precision bolts over long ranges. The bolts themselves, however, travel with a similar speed to bolts fired from blaster rifles such as the E-11 Blaster Rifle. The only exception is the DLT-19X Targeting Rifle, introduced in the Outer Rim DLC.
The Pulse Cannon and Cycler Rifle are two weapons that behave similar to sniper rifles, but are only capable of firing one shot before having to undergo a cooldown. They can be used by equipping their respective Star Card.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2017)[]
In DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II, sniper rifles are used by the Specialist class. Many sniper rifles feature a long barrel, and so are also referred to as longblasters. Not all sniper rifles are longblasters, however, such as the A280-CFE.
Although there are 10 unique sniper rifle designs, only 4 of them have unique statistics. The other six serve as faction default weapons, all sharing the same statistics.
Without modifications, all sniper rifles fire bolts at 1,600 meters/sec.
