The Battle became available on December 8, 2015. Those who pre-ordered the game got the expansion pack on December 1, 2015.

This DLC was a tie-in with The Force Awakens and is the only DLC from the sequel trilogy that is present in the reboot. It was originally released to players who pre-ordered the game, but it was later released as a free download sometime in February. Jakku was also the first planet that Turning Point was used on.
