The TIE Advanced is a prototype starfighter field tested by Darth Vader. This customized craft has larger, angular wings, which set it apart from standard TIE fighters. The rear engine of the TIE Advanced is also considerably longer, and the support struts connecting the cockpit ball to the wings are much thicker than the standard.
