The Rise of Skywalker Update is an upcoming update for DICE's Star Wars Battlefront II that is set to be released on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.[1]
The update will most noticeably include new content based on the film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will premiere around the same time the update releases. This content includes a new map set on a new jungle planet, which is set to be released on December 20, the same day that the film premieres, and four new reinforcements: two for the First Order, the Sith Trooper and the First Order Jet Trooper, and two for the Resistance, the Gunner and the Spy. Other notable additions and changes include:
- The expansion of Co-Op to the sequel era
- Three new Appearances: one for Rey, one for Finn, and one for Kylo Ren
One Community Transmission has been released leading up to the update, which details the content of the update as well as the Celebration Edition and more content related to the "sequel trilogy era" set to be released in January 2020. A trailer was released on December 16, 2019, showcasing the new map and reinforcements, including the new Hero BB-8, scheduled for release in January 2020. Another Community Transmission is expected, which will further detail the update itself and include the release notes.
