The Thermal Detonator is a Star Card featured in Star Wars Battlefront and an ability in Star Wars Battlefront II.

Despite being a good weapon, this weapon only appeared in Return of The Jedi when Boushh threatened to use it to get Jabba to give him 50,000 credits.

Overview[edit | edit source]

"The most popular and widely used grenade in the galaxy. It is easy to use and has deadly results."
— In-game description

Being the first Star Card unlocked in the game, this grenade is the most common out of all the grenades. It is classified as an Asset Card.

Although it has a small radius, the Thermal Detonator can give a lot of punishment within this range.

This Asset Card is great when used in small corridors.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

Being that this Star Card is one of the first Cards that players will unlock in the game, it will also appear in many kinds of load-outs for beginners. One of these load-outs is using the Scout Pistol and Thermal Detonator as your Asset Cards, and Ion Shot as your Charge Card. The blaster that would work best with this load-out is the default blaster rifle for whichever faction you are playing as. Since it is advised that players spend their first credits on Star Cards instead of blasters. It may also be used to bounce round corners to kill unseen enemies without exposing yourself to their blasters.

Star Wars Battlefront II[edit | edit source]

The Thermal Detonator returns as a default ability for Assault and can be improved.

After The Age of Rebellion Update, Leia Organa can throw three detonators.
